Abstract
This monograph proposes a tourist use of Intangible Cultural Heritage, inventoried by the parish
autonomous government (GAD) of Turi, where festivals and religious celebrations are
registered in inventories available at the Ministry of Tourism and the National Institute of
Cultural Heritage. It is also proposed to generate a tourism plan and a marketing plan for the
parish serving as main tools for the potentiation, promotion and conservation of intangible
cultural heritage.
At the moment, the rural parish of Turi does not count on a plan of tourist promotion of its
celebrations and religious celebrations; for this reason, local, national and foreign tourists only
know Turi for its tourist lookout point (unique attraction inventoried) and not for its intangible
cultural heritage.
The main purpose of the proposed tourist use is to manage the intangible heritage of the parish
optimally, generating thus promotion strategies, so that the Turi parish, due to its culture and
traditions, becomes the main attraction of the city of Cuenca all year round.
The proposed plans contain programs, projects and activities, which aim to position the
festivities of the parish in the tourists' minds of those arriving in the city of Cuenca, therefore,
making the town of Turi known as a tourist attraction that can be visited throughout the year
for the diversity of traditions that are carried out there.
Resumen
La presente monografía propone un aprovechamiento turistico del Patrimonio Cultural
Inmaterial, inventariado por el GAD parroquial de Turi. En la misma se registran las fiestas y
celebraciones religiosas en inventarios obtenidos en el Ministerio de Turismo y en el Instituto
Nacional de Patrimonio Cultural. También, se plantea crear un plan turístico y un plan de
marketing para la parroquia que funcione como herramientas principales para la
potencialización, promoción y conservación del patrimonio cultural inmaterial.
Actualmente, la parroquia rural de Turi no cuenta con un plan de promoción turística de sus
fiestas y celebraciones religiosas, por esta razón turistas locales, nacionales y extranjeros sólo
conocen a Turi por su mirador turístico (único atractivo inventariado) y más no por su
patrimonio cultural inmaterial.
El aprovechamiento turístico planteado, tiene como objetivo principal manejar de una
manera optima el patrimonio inmaterial de la parroqia y con esto generar estrategias de
promoción, para que la parroquia Turi, por su cultura y tradiciones, se convierta en un atractivo
principal de la ciudad de Cuenca todo el año.
Los planes planteados contienen programas, proyectos y actividades, los mismos que tienen
como objetivo posicionar a las festividades de la parroquia en la mente de los turistas que llegan
a la ciudad de Cuenca y de esta manera dar a conocer a Turi como un atractivo turístico que se
puede visitar durante todo el año por la diversidad de tradiciones que se realizan.
