| Abstract: | The main objective of this research is to characterize seroepidemiology, its spatial distribution and risk factors in haciendas and domiciles of three communities of the Tarqui Parish, with a total of 249 dogs randomly sampled and underwent the MAT test for canine leptospirosis. ,the samples were processed at the Zoonoses Laboratory of the National Institute of Public Health Research (INSPI) of the cities of Cuenca and Guayaquil.
Dogs with owners who live in haciendas and domiciles. Dogs that have been vaccinated against leptospirosis in the last year were excluded. For the analysis of the results, Pearson's Chi square of nonparametric statistics with significance of 95% was used, the variables that gave significance were place, Type of esidence and dogs that live loose at will. The tests were analyzed with the software SPSS 24. Spatial analysis was used to know the location of the positive cases generating spatial distribution maps of the variables analyzed. For this, GPS receivers were used to take the coordinates of the location of the haciendas and addresses of
the dog owners, in the haciendas and domiciles of the three communities of Tarqui. 61.8% of positive cases were found, with L canicola (26%) serovar with the greatest presence, while Tutupali Chico was the ommunity with the greatest presence of the disease (77.6%),followed by Parochial Center (63, 2%) and Gullanzhapa (45.5%). |
| Description: | La presente investigación tiene como objetivo caracterizar la seroepidemiología, la
distribución espacial y los factores de riesgo en haciendas y domicilios de tres comunidades
de la Parroquia Tarqui, con un total de 249 perros muestreados aleatoriamente y que se
sometieron a la prueba de MAT para leptospirosis canina, las muestras se procesaron en
Laboratorio de Zoonosis del Instituto Nacional de Investigación de Salud Pública (INSPI) de
las ciudades de Cuenca y Guayaquil.
Se tomó en consideración los perros con dueños que vivan en haciendas y domicilios. Se
excluyeron los perros que en el último año los hayan vacunado contra la leptospirosis. Para el
análisis de los resultados se utilizó, Chi cuadrado de Pearson de la estadística no paramétrica
con significancia de 95 %, las variables que dieron significancia fueron lugar, tipo de
residencia y perros que viven sueltos a voluntad. Las pruebas fueron analizadas con el
software SPSS 24. Se utilizó análisis espacial para conocer la ubicación de los casos positivos
generando mapas de distribución espacial de las variables analizadas. Para esto se trabajó con
receptores GPS, para la toma de coordenadas de la ubicación de haciendas y domicilios de los
propietarios de los perros, en las haciendas y domicilios de las tres comunidades de Tarqui.
Se encontró un 61,8 % de casos positivos, siendo L canícola (26 %) el serovar con mayor
presencia, mientras que Tutupali Chico fué la comunidad con mayor presencia de la
enfermedad (77,6%), seguido Centro Parroquial (63,2%) y Gullanzhapa (45,5%). |
