| Abstract: | The actuarial study is a distinctive competence in the administration of insurance and related institutions that allows identifying problems in time and promoting optimal solutions. Thus, in this work is updated the latest actuarial study of the Unemployment Fund of the University of Cuenca to determine if it will be sustainable in the next five years, as it is observed that the number of new affiliations is low compared to the high number of partners who retire. For this, demographic and economic-financial parameters were used, and with the use of the reserve projection method, it was found that for the year 2017 the Fund had a surplus of $11'079.153, which indicates, as the financial analysis, that the administration has been efficient and no deficits were estimated for the study horizon. Also, it is evident that the majority presence of teachers allows the fund to be sustainable, since these are the ones that have the greatest contributions. Therefore, the administration of the Fund can opt for a 1% reduction in the contribution rate, maintain at least 518 members and not modify the interest rates of the loans. |
| Description: | El estudio actuarial es una competencia distintiva en la administración de instituciones de Seguros y afines que permite identificar problemas a tiempo y promover soluciones óptimas.
Es así, que en el presente trabajo se actualiza el último estudio actuarial del Fondo de Cesantía de la Universidad de Cuenca para determinar si será sostenible en los siguientes cinco años, por cuanto se observa que el número de nuevas afiliaciones es bajo frente al alto número de partícipes que se retiran. Para ello se utilizó parámetros demográficos y económico-financieros, y con el uso del método de proyección de reservas se encontró que para el año 2017 el Fondo tenía un superávit de $11´079.153, lo que indica, al igual que el análisis financiero, que la administración ha sido eficiente y no se estimó déficits para el horizonte de estudio. También, se evidencia que la presencia mayoritaria de docentes permite que el fondo sea sostenible, pues son estos los que tienen mayores aportes. Por tanto, la administración del Fondo puede optar por la reducción del 1% en la tasa de aportación, mantener como mínimo 518 afiliados y no modificar las tasas de interés de los créditos. |
