| Abstract: | Introduction: Uterine fibroids have a high prevalence of 20-50% in reproductive age, most are asymptomatic; Occasionally, they can cause bleeding, pain and a sensation of pelvic pressure.
Objective: To determine the prevalence and factors associated with uterine myomatosis in patients between 30 and 50 years old that attended the gynecology outpatient clinic of the José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital, during the year 2017.
Methodology: A transversal-analytical study was carried out, with 246 patients who attended the gynecology outpatient clinic. Sonography was used for the diagnosis. The data analysis was performed with the SPSS Software version 22. The values of p <0.05 were considered significant, the association was established by the prevalence ratio.
Results: The prevalence of uterine myomatosis was 43.1%, which corresponds to 25.0% of patients aged between 30-35 years, 44.6% between 36-45 years, with a predominance in women over 45 years of age. years (56.7%).
When studying the relationship between early menarche, nulliparity, overweight, obesity, sedentary lifestyle, no statistically significant association was found for uterine myomatosis. Among the factors associated with uterine myomatosis is the maternal history of uterine myomatosis (RP 2.19 IC 95%: 1.69-2.83, p = 0.002).

| Description: | Introducción: Los miomas uterinos tienen una alta prevalencia del 20-50% en edad reproductiva, la mayoría son asintomáticos; en ocasiones, pueden producir sangrado, dolor y sensación de presión pélvica.
Objetivo: Determinar la prevalencia y factores asociados a miomatosis uterina en pacientes entre 30 a 50 años que acudieron a consulta externa de Ginecología del Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, durante el año 2017.
Metodología: Se realizó un estudio transversal-analítico, con 246 pacientes que acudieron a consulta externa de ginecología. Para el diagnóstico se utilizó la ecografía. El análisis de datos se realizó con el Software SPSS versión 22. Se consideraron significativos los valores de p < 0,05, la asociación se estableció mediante la razón de prevalencia.
Resultados: La prevalencia de miomatosis uterina fue del 43,1%, que corresponde al 25,0% de las pacientes en edades entre 30-35 años, el 44,6% entre 36-45 años, con predominio en mujeres mayores a 45 años (56,7%).
Al estudiar la relación entre la menarquia temprana, nuliparidad, sobrepeso, obesidad, sedentarismo, no se encontró asociación estadísticamente significativa para miomatosis uterina. Entre los factores asociados a miomatosis uterina está el antecedente materno de miomatosis uterina (RP 2,19 IC 95%: 1,69-2,83, p=0,002).
