| Abstract: | Multidimensional poverty has been positioned as the measure to assess the deprivations that a society has. Therefore, the objective of the research is to build the multidimensional poverty index in the rural parish of San Vicente of district El Pan in 2017. To do this. An information survey is made to the homes of the San Vicente parish. To generate the measurement of multidimensional poverty, the Alkire Foster methodology is used, which is composed of four dimensions that measure education, deprivation, job, health, and housing. Additional dimensions called partner connectivity, participation agency are included, affective states, and subjective well-being, in a way that allows to measure poverty in an integral way. Based on the construction of the index, the multidimensional poverty rate is determined, the extreme poverty rate, the indicators that contribute the most to multidimensional poverty in the analyzed territory and the intensity of poverty is analyzed. The main findings indicate that in the rural parish of San Vicente of district El Pan reach a multidimensional poverty of 67.02%, the extreme poverty rate 25.53% and the intensity poverty of 45.92%.The dimensions that contribute the most that IPM are: subjective well-being (25.92%); partner connectivity, participation and agency (23.68%); and affective states (19.62%). |
| Description: | La pobreza multidimensional se ha posicionado a nivel mundial como la medida para evaluar las privaciones que tiene las personas en un territorio. Por lo que, el objetivo de la investigación es construir el índice de pobreza multidimensional en la parroquia rural San Vicente del cantón El Pan en el año 2017 mediante información primaria. Para generar la medición de pobreza multidimensional, se utiliza la metodología de Alkire Foster que se compone por cuatro dimensiones que miden privaciones de Educación, Trabajo, Salud, y Vivienda Sin embargo se incluyen dimensiones adicionales, denominadas conectividad social, participación, agencia; estados afectivos, y bienestar subjetivo, de manera que permita medir la pobreza de manera más integral. A partir de la construcción del índice, se determina la tasa de pobreza multidimensional, la tasa de extrema pobreza multidimensional, la intensidad de la pobreza, y las dimensiones que más contribuyen a la pobreza multidimensional en el territorio analizado. Los principales hallazgos indican que en la parroquia rural San Vicente del Cantón El Pan, el Índice de Pobreza Multidimensional (IPM) es de 30.77 puntos, la pobreza multidimensional por hogar alcanza un 67.02%, la tasa de pobreza multidimensional extrema por hogar es del 25.53% y la intensidad de pobreza es de 45.92%. Las dimensiones que más aportan al IPM son: Bienestar subjetivo (25.92%); Conectividad social, participación y agencia (23.68%); y Estados afectivos (19.62%). |
