| Abstract: | The city of Santa Rosa is characterized by being strategically located in the center of the province of El Oro; it concentrates numerous cultural activities that identify it at a national level. Given the cultural potential of the city and the lack of a physical space that concentrates community activities of an artistic and artisanal nature, an agreement is established with the Municipality of Santa Rosa in order to propose a cultural facility that solves this problem.
For the development of the proposal, it begins by studying the theoretical terms on Culture and Cultural Centers in order to obtain a solid idea of the meaning and influence of this type of facility in a city. Then, this theoretical knowledge is integrated with a review of the context of Santa Rosa and its cultural production to generate a project according to the needs of the population.
The research stage is complemented with a more specific phase, which includes a study of cultural facilities and an urban-architectural analysis of the city. Through the case studies, we know the functionality and impact of a cultural center in cities with a similar context, while the strategies that will govern the design of the future project are constructed.
Once the guidelines have been established, an urban analysis of the city is carried out with the purpose of choosing the ideal site for the edification. Then, the physical and natural pre-existences are studied to be considered in the design process.
The proposal lays its foundations in the research and analysis phases that allowed to determine the guidelines to be followed for its execution. The equipment has a correct connection with the city and the distribution of its spaces respects pre-existing natural elements. Thanks to the flexibility achieved, the complex can be built in stages without representing a change in the formal solution.
The Cultural Center for Santa Rosa is projected as a large public space for the city through its multifunctional services, living areas and recreation spaces; which, in addition to the exhibition of the cultural material of the population, it is proposed as a meeting point and social exchange. |
| Description: | El cantón Santa Rosa se caracteriza por encontrarse situado estratégicamente en el centro de la provincia de El Oro; concentra diversas actividades culturales que la identifican a nivel nacional. Dado el potencial cultural que posee la ciudad y la falta de un espacio físico que concentre actividades comunales de carácter artístico y artesanal, se establece un convenio con el GAD Municipal de Santa Rosa con el fin de proponer un equipamiento cultural que solucione dicha problemática.
Para el desarrollo de la propuesta, se inicia estudiando los términos teóricos sobre Cultura y Centros Culturales con el fin de obtener una idea sólida del significado e influencia de este tipo de equipamientos en una ciudad. Luego, este conocimiento teórico es integrado con una revisión del contexto de Santa Rosa y su producción cultural que permitan generar un proyecto acorde a las necesidades de la población.
La etapa de investigación es complementada con una fase más específica, que comprende un estudio de equipamientos culturales y un análisis urbano-arquitectónico de la ciudad. Por medio del estudio de casos se conoce la funcionalidad e impacto de un centro cultural en urbes de contexto similar, a la vez que se construyen las estrategias que regirán el diseño del futuro proyecto. Una vez establecidas las directrices, se lleva a cabo un análisis urbano de la ciudad con el propósito de elegir el predio ideal para el equipamiento. Luego, se estudian las preexistencias físicas y naturales para ser consideradas en el proceso de diseño.
La propuesta sienta sus bases en las fases de investigación y análisis que permitieron determinar los lineamientos a seguir para su ejecución. El equipamiento posee una correcta conexión con la ciudad y la distribución de sus espacios respeta elementos naturales preexistentes. Gracias a la flexibilidad alcanzada, el conjunto puede construirse por etapas sin representar un cambio en la solución formal.
El Centro Cultural para Santa Rosa se proyecta como un gran espacio público para la ciudad a través de sus servicios multifuncionales, zonas de estancia y espacios de recreación; el cual, además de la exposición del material cultural de la población, se plantea como punto de encuentro e intercambio social. |
