Abstract: | Decio Tozzi, an architect from São Paulo who is discovered and published his work through a relevant connection with the modern architecture of Brazil, with its important actors and events. In addition, we know the influence of the great masters of modern architecture, Le Corbusier and Mies Van der Rohe, in the brutalist architecture of São Paulo that in the 60s and 70s, went through a political, social and economic period in which architecture projects respond on a structural logic that allows reinforced concrete.
The residences of Tozzi, built in São Paulo, Brazil during the period 1965-1974, are analyzed under the attributes of modern architecture, and are found in the residences of Paco Moreno Pintor, Elio Donato Tozzi and Eduardo Alvaro Vieira, important relationships not only visuals but constructive through a rigorous structure of reinforced concrete and natural light that give an exceptional character to their work.
Through the reconstruction of the residences, the intrinsic formal values are identified, from the correct strategies that respond and strengthen the place where they are located and the ordered construction is a clear response to the residential program that is proposed. Therefore, it demonstrates the current value to date of Decio Tozzi's works that are capable of creating, through construction, projects that not only integrate harmoniously with the urban landscape, but generate quality spaces through light and its materiality, concrete. |
