| Abstract: | Background: the voluntary interruption of pregnancy represents a public health problem that compromises the reproductive health of women from the biological, psychological and social point of view, and can end the life of a woman who is carried out in situations of risk.
Objective: to determine the level of knowledge and attitudes about induced abortion in users of the Health Center No. 1 Pumapungo during the month of August 2018.
Methodology: observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study. A test of knowledge and an escalation of Likert-like attitudes modified on induced abortion was applied to 400 users who met the inclusion criteria. The level of knowledge and attitudes regarding induced abortion are reported. The data was delivered by means of personalized tables. The SPSS MB 15 and Excel programs are used to analyze the data. Ethical processes were applied for studies with human beings.
Results: of the 400 participants, with an average age of 31.7 years, 70.3% were women and 40% had secondary education, 75.3% resided in urban areas, 67.5% identified themselves as Catholics, 46% had a medium-low high socioeconomic level 68% of the respondents had a medium level of knowledge, 25.8% had a high level of knowledge and the low 6.3%. The attitude of indifference was the most frequent with 54.3%, an attitude of acceptance in 23.5% and a rejection in 22.3%. |
| Description: | Antecedentes: la interrupción voluntaria del embarazo representa un problema de salud pública que compromete la salud reproductiva de las mujeres tanto desde el punto de vista biológico, psicológico y social, pudiendo terminar con la vida de una mujer si se lo realiza en situaciones de riesgo.
Objetivo: determinar el nivel de conocimientos y actitudes sobre el aborto inducido en usuarios/as del Centro de Salud N°1 Pumapungo durante el mes de agosto del 2018.
Metodología: estudio observacional, descriptivo, transversal. Se aplicó un test de conocimientos y una escala de actitudes tipo Likert modificada sobre aborto inducido a 400 usuarios/as que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión. Se reportó el nivel de conocimientos y las actitudes respecto al aborto inducido. Los datos fueron presentados por medio de tablas personalizadas. Para el análisis de los datos se utilizaron los programas SPSS MB 15 y Excel. Se aplicaron los procesos éticos para estudios con seres humanos.
Resultados: de los 400 participantes, con una media de edad de 31.7 años, el 70.3% fueron mujeres y el 40% tuvo instrucción secundaria, el 75.3% residían en áreas urbanas, el 67.5% se identificaron como católicos, el 46% tuvieron nivel socioeconómico medio-bajo. El 68 % de los encuestados tuvo un nivel medio de conocimientos, seguido de un alto conocimiento en el 25.8% y bajo 6.3%. La actitud de indiferencia fue la más frecuente con un 54.3%, seguida de aceptación en el 23.5 % y rechazo en un 22.3%. |
