The present research project analyzes the process of reverse logistics in the cardboard sector of the Cuenca canton, identifying in this way the main actors of the supply chain and developing an analysis of each of them to deepen the study of the activities they develop, and define how profitable they are; the data obtained come from the period 2017 - 2018, based on information from the Municipal Cleaning Company of Cuenca (EMAC EP) and waste pickers, collection centers and homes. Finally, a reverse logistics model of the sector studied and a cost analysis to establish conclusions and recommendations are proposed

El presente proyecto de investigación analiza el proceso de logística inversa en el sector del cartón del cantón Cuenca, identificando de esta manera los principales actores de la cadena de suministro y desarrollando un análisis de cada uno de ellos para profundizar el estudio de las actividades que desarrollan, y definir cuan rentables son; los datos obtenidos provienen del periodo 2017 – 2018, con base en información de la Empresa Municipal de Aseo de Cuenca (EMAC EP) y de los recicladores, centros de acopio y hogares. Finalmente se plantea un modelo de logística inversa del sector estudiado y un análisis de costos para establecer conclusiones y recomendaciones.
