| dc.description | Durante los últimos años, a Ecuador han llegado un gran número de ciudadanos procedentes de varias nacionalidades. Incluso, el país ha implementado leyes para protegerlos y para que su adaptación sea menos complicada. De manera concreta, Cuenca se ha convertido en el sitio de preferencia para personas de Norteamérica y Europa, en gran mayoría. Sin embargo, la población cuencana no estaba preparada para este suceso y la ciudad se ha tenido que adaptar a sus nuevos integrantes y aprender a vivir con ellos. El objetivo principal del trabajo es determinar las características de la comunicación intercultural mediante el estudio de caso de la convivencia de ciudadanos extranjeros en la ciudad de Cuenca. Por ello, en el primer capítulo se habla sobre la teoría utilizada para analizar el tema desde la comunicación intercultural. En el segundo, se trata acerca de la historia que Cuenca ha tenido como ciudad que recepta extranjeros y su situación actual. En el capítulo tercero, se realizan entrevistas a autoridades y a ciudadanos cuencanos para conocer su opinión y que además son la base del documental. | dc.description.abstract | During the last years, a big number of foreigners have come to Ecuador. Even, numerous laws have been implemented to protect and help these people to adapt easily. Specifically, for people of North America and Europe, Cuenca has become his favorite place. However, native cuencanos were not prepared for this event and the city has to adapt to this circumstance and to deal with it. The main goal of this paper is to determine the features of intercultural communication by the use of study case in the day by day coexistence of foreign citizens in Cuenca city. For this reason, chapter one is about the theory that was used to analyze the topic from the point of view of the intercultural communication. The second chapter talks about Cuenca’s story as a city where foreigners come to and its current situation as a destination for these people. In chapter three some interviews were carried out to authorities and people in general to know their thoughts and opinions; these interviews served as the basis of the documental that was recorded.
