Factores socio económicos que intervienen en el rendimiento de los niños de 10-12 años en la escuela Joaquín Fernández de Córdova Sinincay, cuenca. 2017

Abstract

Background: The performance of children in school can be influenced by a number of factors, both family and social and those that arise from the field of study itself. The low performance, constitutes a negative aspect since it defines the deficient learning that presents the student in its classrooms, thus generating problems in the society.

General Objective: to determine the socio-economic factors involved in the performance of children aged 10-12 in the "Joaquín Fernández de Córdova" School, belonging to the Sinincay parish, Cuenca 2017.

Methodology: a cross-sectional descriptive study will be carried out, the information obtained will be tabulated in the SPSS statistical software and the Excel tool will be used, seeking to present the results in a better way through graphs and frequency tables, which will allow to determine the socioeconomic factors that affect the performance of children aged 10-12 at the "Joaquín Fernández de Córdova" school.

Results: Most students who correspond to 94.8% live with their parents, a positive aspect that affects school performance and learning; a negative aspect that constitutes a risk for educational performance, is the level of instruction of the parents represented by 65.6%, they have only primary education. Conclusions: Socioeconomic factors do influence the students' school performance and the learning process of skills.
