| Abstract: | Background: According to WHO data, 12% of young women aged 14 to 15 years have ever had sex. Statistics from the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion show that the rate of adolescent pregnancy among 15- to 19-year-olds grew by about 18%. These figures place our country leading the list of Andean countries with the highest number of pregnancies in this stage of life
Course objective: To identify the frequency of paternity and maternity, characteristics of the beginning of sexual relations in adolescents enrolled active in Canton Gualaceo in the academic year 2016-17
Methodology: A structured survey validated by the CERCA project was applied. A qualitative-quantitative descriptive study was carried out, with 1,800 adolescents between 12 and 19 years old. For data processing, SPSS version 19 was used, with simple tables and descriptive statistics.
Results: The average age was 14.09 years, 52.6% of the female sex did not work in the majority, mainly Catholics. About 60% had their first sexual intercourse between the ages of 14 and 16, more than 75% reported having had 2 or 3 sexual partners. 67.4% have not felt pressure from others to have sex. Pregnancy in girls behaved in a percentage of 4.5%, while 1.8% had already been before, boys report that 4.0% of them have the pregnant couple and 1.6% You have pregnant someone before.
Conclusions: The frequency of maternity and paternity in these adolescents is within the range of studies performed in our country. Sexual intercourse begins at very early ages and the adolescents studied show a marked sexual experience for their age |
| Description: | Antecedentes: Según datos de la OMS el 12% de las jóvenes con edades entre 14 y 15 años, han mantenido relaciones sexuales alguna vez. Las estadísticas del Ministerio de Inclusión Económica y Social, reflejan que el índice de embarazo adolescente entre jóvenes de 15 a 19 años, creció cerca del 18%. Objetivo general: Identificar la frecuencia de paternidad y maternidad, características del inicio de relaciones sexuales en adolescentes escolarizados activos del Cantón Gualaceo en el curso 2016-17
Metodología: Se aplicó una encuesta estructurada y validada por el proyecto CERCA. Se realizó un estudio cuali-cuantitativo descriptivo, con 1800 adolescentes entre 12 y 19 años, para el procesamiento de los datos se utilizó el SPSS versión 19, con tablas simples y estadística descriptiva.
Resultados: La edad promedio fue de 14,09 años, el 52,6% del sexo femenino, no trabajan en su mayoría, católicos principalmente. Cerca del 60% tuvo su primera relación sexual entre los 14 y 16 años, más del 75% refiere haber tenido 2 o 3 parejas sexuales. El 67,4% no se ha sentido presión de otros para tener relaciones sexuales. El embarazo en las chicas se comportó en un porcentaje de 4,5%, mientras un 1,8% ya lo había estado antes, los chicos refieren que un 4,0% de los mismos tienen la pareja embarazada y un 1,6% ha embarazado a alguien con anterioridad.
Conclusiones: La frecuencia de maternidad y paternidad en adolescentes se encuentra dentro del rango de los estudios realizados en nuestro país. Las relaciones sexuales comienzan a edades muy tempranas |
