| Abstract: | BACKGROUND:
According to UNAIDS statistics and the projections of the international organization on the increase of HIV / AIDS, estimated that in Ecuador more than 29,000 people who were HIV carriers at the end of 2015 and between 1000 and 3000 died of AIDS. (1)
OBJECTIVE: To analyze the knowledge, beliefs, attitudes and sexual practices related to HIV / AIDS, in the Uyuntza Community. Morona Santiago 2017.
METHODOLOGY: Phenomenological qualitative study the study population was the members of the Uyuntza Juaruar community, the sample was chosen 7 mixed participants between 18 and 50 years of age, men and women with active sexual life, a focus group was carried out applying a semi-structured survey, the data was recorded, transcribed in Word and then processed in the Atlas-Ti software.
RESULTS
The age of initiation of sexual relations is early, thirteen years. Poverty, low economic and academic level in the community are limiting to acquire knowledge. The source from which information is acquired is the talks in the Health sub-centers, which, according to the residents, are insufficient in terms of time and quality. Prostitution is a permanent source of possible HIV / AIDS infection. The men in the study have more "more than forty" sexual partners. Women do not use condoms in their sexual relationships and feel more vulnerable due to possible infidelities of their partners |

De acuerdo con las estadísticas de la ONUSIDA y las proyecciones del organismo internacional sobre el incremento del VIH/SIDA, estimaron que en el Ecuador más de 29.000 personas serían portadoras del VIH a finales del 2015 y que entre 1000 y 3000 morirían por el SIDA. (1)
OBJETIVO: Analizar los conocimientos, creencias, actitudes y prácticas sexuales vinculadas con el VIH/SIDA, en la Comunidad Uyuntza. Morona Santiago 2017.
METODOLOGÍA: Estudio cualitativo fenomenológico la población de estudio fueron los miembros de la comunidad shuar de Uyuntza, la muestra se escogió 7 participantes mixtos entre 18 y 50 años, hombres y mujeres con vida sexual activa, se realizó un grupo focal aplicando una encuesta semiestructurada, los datos fueron grabados, transcritos en Word y luego procesados en el software Atlas-Ti.
RESULTADOS
La edad de inicio de las relaciones sexuales es precoz, trece años. La pobreza, bajo nivel económico y académico en la comunidad son limitantes para adquirir conocimientos. La fuente de la que se adquiere información son las charlas en los subcentros de Salud, mismas que, según los moradores, en cuestión a tiempo y calidad son insuficientes. La prostitución es un foco permanente de posible contagio de VIH/SIDA. Los hombres del estudio tienen más parejas sexuales “más de cuarenta”. Las mujeres no usan preservativo en sus relaciones sexuales y se sienten más vulnerables por posibles infidelidades de sus parejas |
