Abstract

This paper presents a performance analysis of L and LCL filters used in Pulse With Modulated Three-Phase Controlled Rectifiers of Wind Power Systems. The rectifier is modeled with both filters using PWM-switch model in order to obtain a dc equivalent circuit. This method consists of replacing the nonlinear part by a linear equivalent circuit composed of dependent sources so that the analysis is easier. The methodology presented is very similar to linear amplifier circuit analysis whereby the transistor is replaced by its equivalent circuit model. The advantage of this model is that it permits to simulate the rectifier behavior without using any control, such that anyone can use simple linear electronic circuit analysis programs. The switch duty ratios are calculated from the dc circuit. Moreover, the rectifier is simulated in open loop and using a sinusoidal PWM to verify which filter is better in terms of Total Harmonic Distortion and efficiency.
