Prevalencia de pacientes esquizofrenicos no adherentes al tratamiento farmacologico y factores asociados del Centro Humberto Ugalde Camacho. 2015-2016

Abstract

Several studies show ˃10% non-adherence to treatment in patients with schizophrenia. Objective: to determine the prevalence of non-adherent schizophrenic patients to the pharmacological treatment and associated factors of the Humberto Ugalde Camacho Center during the periodo 20152016. Methodology: cross-sectional study. Sample: 138 patients, contacted 81. Technical-instruments: surveys by telephone calls; the questionnaire included: MMAS-8 scale, WHO-ASSIST V3.0, SUMD and DUKE-UNK-11. Tabulation-analysis: Microsoft Excel 2010, software SPSSv15, ODDS RATIO, 95% CI, p ˂0.05. Results: no adhesion 88.9%. It was obtained: OR 3.5 (95% CI 0.68-18.0, p 0.115) in relation to tobacco consumption; OR 3.13 (95% CI 0.60-16.11, p 0.155) with alcohol. OR 8.5 (95% CI 1.63-44.33, p 0.004) in relation to disease awareness. OR was not obtained in relation to the family support (p 0,414). OR 3.04 (95% CI 0.72-12.73; p 0.115) in relation to economic constraints. OR 0.84 (95% CI 0.21 - 3.40, p 0.814) in relation to the consumption of typical drugs; OR 3.07 (IC 95% 0.36-26.20; p 0.282) atypical. OR 6.58 (95% CI 1.27-34.07, p 0.013) in relation to daily consumption; OR 0.19 (95% CI 0.4-0.81; p 0.016) IM administration (depot). 40.3% - 31% consumed 2 and 3 drugs respectively. OR 3.52 (95% CI 0.41-29.87, p 0.223) relative to tremor; OR 2.86 (95% CI 0.33-24.47, p 0.316) for stiffness. Conclusion: 88% prevalence of nonadherence to pharmacological treatment. The lack of awareness of the disease and the daily consumption of the medication influenced the nonadherence of pharmacological treatment.
