| Abstract: | Water is the most valuable natural resource and is a scarce and vulnerable element, so that public and private water supply services must guarantee the biological, chemical and physical safety of water, otherwise it could serve as a vehicle for the spread of diseases.
The main objective of the present study was to analyze the microbiological and physical-chemical quality of the treated water of the Sinai parish of the Morona canton, in the reserve tanks of the treatment plants and buildings of the communities belonging to the parish, compare it with the physical, chemical and microbiological requirements contemplated in the reference regulation INEN 1108: 2014 and INEN 1108: 2006.
For the physical-chemical and microbiological analysis, 255 samples were analyzed (in duplicate), which were taken from the reserve tanks and buildings of the sectors belonging to the parish of Sinai during 8 weeks in the months of February. - April.
In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics were applied, for which the SPSS program ("Statistical Product and Service Solutions") and Excel 2013 were used.
The results obtained showed that the physical-chemical parameters such as color, turbidity comply with the provisions of the INEN 1108: 2014 standard; the residual chlorine does not comply with this standard. The pH complies with the INEN 1108: 2006 standard. In the microbiological parameters it was established that the total coliforms are outside the limit allowed in the norm INEN 1108: 2006 and the fecal coliforms are outside the limit established by the norm INEN 1108: 2014. |
| Description: | El agua es el recurso natural más valioso, un elemento escaso y vulnerable, por lo que los servicios públicos y privados de abastecimiento de agua han de garantizar la inocuidad biológica, química y física del agua, podría servir como vehículo para la propagación de enfermedades.
El objetivo principal del presente estudio fue analizar la calidad microbiológica y físico-química del agua tratada de la parroquia de Sinaí del cantón Morona, en los tanques de reserva de las plantas de tratamiento e inmuebles de las comunidades pertenecientes a la parroquia, al compararlo con los requisitos físicos, químicos y microbiológicos contemplados en la normativa de referencia INEN 1108:2014 e INEN 1108:2006.
Para el análisis físico-químico y microbiológico se analizaron 255 muestras (por duplicado) las mismas que fueron tomadas de los tanques de reserva e inmuebles de los sectores pertenecientes a la parroquia de Sinaí durante 8 semanas en los meses de febrero - abril.
En el análisis de los datos se aplicó estadística descriptiva para lo cual se utilizó el programa SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) y Excel 2013.
Los resultados obtenidos demostraron que los parámetros físico-químico como el color, turbiedad cumplen con lo establecido en la norma INEN 1108:2014; el cloro residual no cumple con esta norma. El pH cumple con la norma INEN 1108:2006. En los parámetros microbiológicos se estableció que los coliformes totales se encuentran fuera del límite permitido en la norma INEN 1108:2006 y los coliformes fecales se encuentran fuera del límite establecido por la norma INEN 1108:2014. |
