Evaluación de la calidad de los MOOC con ISO/IEC 25010

Abstract

MOOC or Massive Open Online Course is a virtual training form present in the current educational landscape. Several authors raise doubts about whether these software products offer quality training, being necessary to establish instruments that certify their characteristics or guide how to approach optimization to ensure success of this type of e-learning.

This project proposes the Quality Evaluation of MOOC Information Systems with ISO/IEC 25010 through the construction of software Quality Model (QM) for MOOC to evaluate them in terms of their technological and pedagogical quality characteristics. Different technics are used in the methodology to lead to the construction and evaluation of the QM under certain quality requirements. The MOOC Information Systems Generic Architecture is built using the Discovering Hybrid ARchitectures by Modeling Actors (DHARMA) method based on the use of istar (i*) diagrams. The QM design uses the Individual Quality Model Construction (IQMC) method that has a set of steps specifically designed to support the construction of a QM and the selection of quality characteristics proposed in the standard catalog ISO/IEC 25010, which allows establishing an instrument with quality factors and measures that facilitate a systematic and practical evaluation of MOOC information systems by an evaluator. Finally, the QM is tested with the evaluation of two freely distributed MOOC platforms under the quality requirements of the University of Cuenca using the Weigths, Objectives, Rules, Mismatches, Selection (WORMS) method in the evaluation and selection of the platforms
