| Abstract: | BACKGROUND: All the parameters that are part of the hemogram are very important to identify a lot of diseases in an ordinary person, but in athletes their relevance is greater since they allow to rule out certain hematological alterations that can affect their performance and also the integral health of them.
OBJECTIVE: Determine hematological parameters in athletes belonging to the Federación Deportiva del Azuay. Cuenca - 2017.
METHODOLOGY: The study was observational, descriptive and the sample was of 220 athletes of the Federación Deportiva del Azuay. Blood samples were taken and haematological parameters were quantified. Results were processed using the IBM SPSS Statistics v23.0 for Windows program.
RESULTS: In this investigation leukocytosis was evidenced in 7,73% of athletes, while 1,82% presented leucopenia. 4,55% of male athletes and 7,27% of female athletes showed a high blood count. Between hemoglobin and hematocrit the percentages were not very significant, however 4,55% of male athletes expressed high values in relation to hemoglobin. Regarding erythrocyte indices, MCHC was the only parameter with a significant percentage of investigated with high values (7,73%).
CONCLUSIONS: For all parameters measured, normal ranges prevailed, although it is necessary to pay attention to some indicators that varied a little. |
| Description: | ANTECEDENTES: Los diversos parámetros que forman parte del hemograma, tienen gran importancia al momento de diagnosticar múltiples enfermedades en una persona común, pero en los deportistas su relevancia es mayor puesto que permiten descartar ciertas alteraciones hematológicas que pueden afectar tanto el rendimiento deportivo como la salud integra de los mismos.
OBJETIVO: Determinar parámetros hematológicos en los deportistas pertenecientes a la Federación Deportiva del Azuay. Cuenca - 2017.
METODOLOGÍA: El estudio fue observacional, de tipo descriptivo y la muestra contó con 220 deportistas de la Federación Deportiva del Azuay. Se tomaron las muestras de sangre y se cuantificaron los parámetros hematológicos. Los resultados se procesaron mediante el uso del programa IBM SPSS Statistics v23.0 para Windows.
RESULTADOS OBTENIDOS: En esta investigación se evidenció leucocitosis en un 7,73% de los deportistas, mientras que el 1,82% presentó leucopenia. Un 4,55% de los deportistas masculinos y un 7,27% de las femeninas mostraron un recuento de hematíes con valores elevados. Entre la hemoglobina y el hematocrito los porcentajes no fueron muy significativos, sin embargo el 4,55% de los deportistas masculinos expresó valores altos en relación a la hemoglobina. En cuanto a los índices eritrocitarios, la CHCM fue el único parámetro con un porcentaje significativo de investigados con valores altos (7,73%).
CONCLUSIONES: Para todos los parámetros medidos predominaron los rangos normales, aunque se hace necesario prestar cierta atención a algunos indicadores que variaron ligeramente. |
