| Abstract: | GENERAL OBJECTIVE: determine the frequency of Postpartum Depression in postpartum women attended at Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. Cuenca-Ecuador. 2017.
METHODOLOGY: a descriptive study was conducted, with an interview with 203 mothers in the maternity area of Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. A two-part survey was used as instrument; the first one was filled in the immediate postpartum and contained sociodemographic data, among others, and the second part with the Edinburgh Postpartum Depression Scale (EDPE), was completed by telephone interview after 7 days of delivery. The data were analyzed with the SPSS program, where a descriptive and frequency report of DPP was made.
RESULTS: of the 203 mothers who participated, the age group with the highest percentage was 20-24 years with 26.6%. By their marital status, 48.3% of mothers were in a free union. The largest group of mothers lived in urban areas with a percentage of 60.1%, while according to their ethnic group 98.0% were considered mestizas. According to his instruction the largest group with 37.9% had full secondary. Also according to EDPE the frequency of DPP was 49.8%.
CONCLUSIONS: the highest percentage of PPD was found in those who did not plan their pregnancy and had their vaginal delivery compared to those who underwent cesarean delivery. According to the DPP classification given by EDPE, 70% of mothers surveyed had moderate PPD |
| Description: | OBJETIVO GENERAL: determinar la frecuencia de Depresión Posparto (DPP) en puérperas atendidas en el Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso. Cuenca-Ecuador. 2017.
METODOLOGÍA: se realizó un estudio descriptivo, con entrevista a 203 madres en el área de maternidad del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, se utilizó como instrumento una encuesta con dos partes; la primera fue llenada en el posparto inmediato y contenía datos sociodemográficos, entre otros, y la segunda parte constaba de la escala de depresión posparto de Edimburgo (EDPE), que se completó mediante la entrevista por vía telefónica pasados 7 días del parto. Los datos fueron analizados con el programa SPSS, donde se realizó un reporte descriptivo y de frecuencia de DPP.
RESULTADOS: de las 203 madres que participaron, el grupo de edad con mayor porcentaje fue de 20-24 años con 26,6%. Por su estado civil, el 48,3% de madres se encontraban en unión libre. El mayor grupo de madres vivían en zona urbana con un porcentaje del 60,1%, mientras según su etnia el 98,0% se consideraron mestizas. Según su instrucción el mayor grupo con el 37,9% tenía secundaria completa. Además según la EDPE la frecuencia de DPP fue del 49,8%.
CONCLUSIONES: el mayor porcentaje de DPP se encontró en aquellas que no planificaron su embarazo y tuvieron su parto por vía vaginal, en comparación a quienes se realizó cesárea. Según la clasificación de DPP dada por la EDPE, el 70% de madres encuestadas presentó DPP moderada |
