| Abstract: | BACKGROUND: The WHO establishes an increase in the registry of elective surgeries relating these patients in general anesthesia exposure and endotracheal intubation.
OBJECTIVE: To establish pH levels in the endotracheal tube in patients receiving general anesthesia at the Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital, march 2017.
METHODS: The research design was descriptive, carried out at the Homero Castanier Crespo Hospital, in the province of Cañar, belonging to Canton Azogues, in a period of 1 months in march 2017. Non-probabilistic sampling was used for convenience Includes all patients undergoing surgery who receive general anesthesia over a period of 31 days, represented by 131 patients. In the present investigation a quantitative method was applied and the interview was used for the data collection.
RESULTS: 37.4% were represented by patients aged between 18 and 30 years of age; The female sex predominated over the male with 50.4% and 49.6%, respectively. The potential of Hydrogen (pH) with alkaline level 8 and 9 predominated in both sexes compared to the rest of the indicated pH scale.
CONCLUSIONS: 50.4% of the population presented a pH in the endotracheal tube of 9, while 32.1% of the patients had pH 8, despite this there was variation of pH in acid level with 10.6% |
| Description: | ANTECEDENTES: la OMS establece un incremento en el registro de cirugías electivas, es así como estos pacientes sometidos a anestesia general y a intubación prolongada presentan factores de riesgo que demandan la alta variabilidad del pH en las vías respiratorias.
OBJETIVO: establecer los niveles de pH en el tubo endotraqueal en pacientes que recibieron anestesia general en el Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo, marzo del 2017.
MÉTODO: el diseño de la investigación fue de tipo descriptivo, se realizó en el Hospital Homero Castanier Crespo, marzo del 2017. Se tomó un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia que incluyo todos los pacientes sometidos a cirugía que recibieron anestesia general en un periodo de 31 días, representada por 131 pacientes. En la presente investigación se aplicó un método cuantitativo y se utilizó la entrevista para la toma de los datos. Se utilizó Excel y el programa PSPP versión 0.10.2 para el análisis estadístico.
RESULTADOS: el 37,4% lo representaron los pacientes con edades comprendidas entre 18 y 30 años de edad. El sexo femenino predominó sobre el masculino con un 50,4% y un 49,6%, respectivamente. El potencial de hidrogeno (pH) con nivel alcalino 8 y 9 predominó en ambos sexos en comparación con el resto de la escala de pH indicada.
CONCLUSIONES: el 50,4% de la población presentó un pH en el tubo endotraqueal de 9, mientras que 32,1% de los pacientes tuvieron pH 8, a pesar de esto hubo variación del pH en nivel por debajo de 7, con 10,6%. |
