Materials and methods: It is a prevalence observational study and analytical study. The universe were the patients attended at the emergency area of the Hospital, the sample is formed by 207 with a confidence level of 95% and an error range of 5%. The information was collected on forms, and data was processed using Microsoft Excel 2010, Epi info 7 and Epi Data 3.1. Statistical variables were used: Prevalence, Chi square to determine the association between variables and odds ratio with a 95% confidence interval.
Results: the prevalence of accidents in children is 39.61%. The most affected group were the kids between the age of 120 to 191 months (42.58%), the group of prevalence was males (54.88%) and from urban areas (53.65%).
