Abstract: | BACKGROUND
The food patterns in a population determine in a family the healthy state or not of all its members. The lack of information on the food patterns of the Sayausi parish, and the importance of establishing them periodically, motivated the realization of this study
GENERAL OBJECTIVE
Identify the food patterns in the families of the Sayausí parish 2016.
METHODS
The type of study was descriptive quantitative, transversal that allowed to determine the types of food and the quantity that consumes each home of the parish Sayausí. The sample was calculated with a heterogeneity of 50%, a margin of error of 8% and a confidence level of 95%, obtaining a total of 150 households.
RESULTS
80.7% of the population consumed rice 4 to 6 times a week. Among the fruits the ones of greater consumption were the tomato of tree and the guineo with percentages of 32,7% and 28,7% respectively. About 66% consumed milk 4 to 6 times a week. The meat of chicken was the most consumed with 45.3%. 63.3% planted in their plots for self-consumption and for commercialization. 68.7% bought food products in the market.
CONCLUSION
The population surveyed reported a high consumption of carbohydrates, vegetables and fruits, in terms of dairy milk predominated. The daily calorie consumption was between 1000 and 2000 calories |

Los patrones alimentarios en una población determinan en una familia el estado saludable o no de todos sus integrantes. La falta de información de los patrones alimentarios de la parroquia Sayausi, y la importancia de establecerlos periódicamente, motivaron la realización de este estudio.
OBJETIVO GENERAL
Identificar los patrones alimentarios en las familias de la parroquia Sayausí 2016.
METODOLOGÍA
El tipo de estudio fue descriptivo cuantitativo, transversal que permitió determinar los tipos de alimentos y la cantidad que consume cada hogar de la parroquia Sayausí. La muestra fue calculada con una heterogeneidad del 50%, un margen de error del 8% y un nivel de confianza del 95% obteniéndose un total de 150 hogares.
RESULTADOS
Un 80,7% de la población consumía arroz 4 a 6 veces a la semana. Entre las frutas de mayor consumo eran el tomate de árbol y el guineo con porcentajes de 32,7% y 28,7% respectivamente. Alrededor de 66% consumían leche 4 a 6 veces a la semana. La carne de pollo era la más consumida con un 45,3%. El 63,3% sembraban en sus parcelas para autoconsumo y para comercialización. El 68,7% compraban productos para la alimentación en el mercado.
CONCLUSIÓN
La población encuestada refería un alto consumo de carbohidratos, verduras y frutas, en cuanto a lácteos la leche era el que predominaba. El consumo de calorías al día se encontraba entre las 1000 y 2000 calorías |
