The work of Sverre Fehn, Prize Pritzker of Architecture in 1997, is one of the
most cryptic and seductive legacies of the architecture of second half of
century XX. This research analyses the original watercolours Sverre Fehn
performs for decades on the island of Hvasser. It unravels the cultural
heritage embodied in them, as well as the remarkable process of abstraction
they represent. The author's interest in drawing sailboats and horizons is the
first step in understanding some of his most relevant fables; The Earth as a
Great Museum and The Labyrinth. The ideas and cultural references that we
find in them can be considered part of the creative process that becomes in
the architecture and teaching work of Fehn.

El legado de Sverre Fehn –Premio Pritzker de Arquitectura en 1997–
constituye uno de los imaginarios más crípticos, pero no menos
seductores de la arquitectura de la segunda mitad del siglo XX. La
presente investigación analiza las acuarelas originales que el noruego realiza
durante décadas en la isla de Hvasser y desentraña el acervo cultural
plasmado en ellas, así como el notable proceso de abstracción que
representan. El interés del autor por bañistas, veleros y horizontes constituye
un primer paso para comprender algunas de sus fábulas más relevantes: La
Tierra como Gran Museo y El Laberinto. Las ideas y referencias culturales que
emanan de sus dibujos se consideran parte consustancial del proceso
creativo que deviene en la arquitectura y la labor docente de Fehn.
