Abstract: | The Semi-directed Colonization Project Upano-Palora undertaken and directed by the organism of local development Centro de RecuperaciónEconómica del Azuay, Cañar y Morona Santiago (CREA) during 1969-1974, offers from a territorial perspective an interesting vision of Ecuadorian Regional Planning and its constant change. The 47 years that have elapsed since the beginning of this project allowing, to identify what elements implemented by CREA have modified the original structure of territory through the project becoming a fundamental part linked to time pass, and generating an urban-rural development of the planning area. The present study will address the description, implementation and evolution of the program, considering key facts such as: physical environment, demography, economy, viability, infrastructure and basic services in order to determinate how they have influenced the current structuring from one side of Ecuadorian western territory. |
Description: | El Proyecto de Colonización SemidirigidoUpano-Palora, promovido y dirigido por el organismo de desarrollo regional Centro de Recuperación Económica del Azuay, Cañar y Morona Santiago (CREA) durante el período 1969-1974, ofrece desdeuna perspectiva territorial una interesante visión de las vicisitudes de la planificación regional ecuatoriana. Los 47 años que han transcurrido desde la ejecución y realización de este proyecto permiten identificar qué elementos implementados por el CREA, a través del proyecto, han modificado la estructura originaria de este territorio siendo motor en el tiempo de un desarrollo urbano-rural de las áreas elegidas. En el presente estudio se aborda la descripción, ejecución y evolución del programa, con especial atención para el análisis los factores como: medio físico, demografía, economía, vialidad, infraestructura y servicios básicos; con el fin de determinar cómo éstos han influido en la estructuración actual de parte del territorio del Oriente ecuatoriano. |
