| Abstract: | For the compression of the relationship between gentrification and heritage conservation, the method to be used in the development of the thesis will be of the deductive type: scientific method that considers the conclusion implicit in the premises. The methodology is based on three general aspects:
1. Conceptual Framework (Heritage conservation, gentrification and their relationship).
2. Diagnosis (Positive and negative aspects in the world and in the country). Experiences on gentrification will be analyzed in general in Europe and Latin America to find favorable and unfavorable aspects. Subsequently, the study should focus on the case of Quito with Calle la Ronda and Cuenca with CalleLarga.
3. Guidelines for managing management (final suggestions). Sites will be compared in a comparative way to find positive and negative aspects. Finally, identify the problems and suggest possible solutions, applicable in CalleLarga.
At the end of the present study, after the analysis of what happens in the international arena, as well as in the city of Quito, possible solutions will be suggested for the Cuenca case. The work of thesis proposes to relate the processes of gentrification with the conservation of the built heritage. Some cases of gentrification in the world will be analyzed, where the effects will be evaluated, to study the case of the cities of Ecuador. |
| Description: | Para la compresión de la relación entre gentrificación y conservación del patrimonio, el método a usarse en el desarrollo de la tesis será de tipo deductivo: método científico que considera que la conclusión se halla implícita dentro las premisas. La metodología se basa en tres aspectos generales:
1. Marco Conceptual (Conservación del patrimonio, gentrificación y su relación).
2. Diagnóstico (Aspectos positivos y negativos en el mundo y en el país). Se analizarán experiencias sobre gentrificación de forma general en Europa y América Latina para encontrar aspectos favorables y desfavorables. Posteriormente, el estudio debe enfocarse sobre el caso de Quito con la calle la Ronda y sobre Cuenca con la calle Larga.
3. Líneas guías para el manejo de la gestión (sugerencias finales). Se analizarán los sitios de forma comparativa para encontrar aspectos positivos y negativos. Finalmente, identificar los problemas y sugerir posibles soluciones, aplicables en la calle Larga.
Al final del presente trabajo, luego de los análisis de lo que sucede en el ámbito internacional, así como en la ciudad de Quito, se sugerirán posibles soluciones para el caso de Cuenca. El trabajo de tesis plantea relacionar a los procesos de gentrificación con la conservación del patrimonio edificado. Se analizarán algunos casos de gentrificación en el mundo, en donde se evaluarán los efectos, para luego estudiar el caso de las ciudades del Ecuador. |
