| Abstract: | The purpose of this study was to describe and establish the typical somatotype characteristics in triathletes men and women, aged 14-16 years of the Sports Federation of Azuay, using two scientific protocols: the Isak Manual (International Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry), which establishes standards for measuring the different anthropometric variables (weight, height, folds, diameters and perimeters), taking into account the technical error of measurement (ETM) and; the anthropometric method of Heath-Carter, which provides formulas for the determination and analysis of somatotype through three main components (endomorph, mesomorph and ectomorphy).
Anthropometric methodology was applied to a universe of 27 triathletes, Cadete category, which were divided into groups of 14 men and 13 women; anthropometric variables were measured and recorded in the Training Center for High Performance (CEAR), with prior training by Dr. Fabian Sanmartin medical deportólogo the CEAR, accredited by the ISAK level II.
Anthropometric data were entered into a software, the same that was developed by the systems engineer Diego Abad member of the Supercom, with advice from the authors of the research. The result of the determination and analysis of somatotype universe of study was a general trend towards a meso-ectomorph somatotype in most triathletes men and a meso-endomorph predominance in women, due to the characteristics of his adolescence features. |
| Description: | La finalidad de este trabajo fue describir y establecer las características somatotipológicas típicas en triatletas varones y mujeres, de edades comprendidas entre 14-16 años de la Federación Deportiva del Azuay, aplicando dos protocolos científicos: el manual ¨ISAK¨ (Sociedad Internacional para el Avance de la Cineantropometría), el cual establece estándares de medición de las distintas variables antropométricas (peso, estatura, pliegues, diámetros y perímetros), tomando en cuenta el error técnico de medición (ETM) y; el método antropométrico de Heath-Carter, el cual establece fórmulas para la determinación y análisis del somatotipo mediante tres componentes principales (endomorfia, mesomorfia y ectomorfia).
La metodología antropométrica fue aplicado a un universo de 27 triatletas, categoría Cadete, los cuales fueron divididos en grupos de 14 hombres y 13 mujeres; las variables antropométricas fueron medidas y registradas en el Centro de Entrenamiento para el Alto Rendimiento (CEAR), con una capacitación previa a cargo del Doctor Fabián Sanmartín médico deportólogo del CEAR, acreditado por la ISAK nivel II.
Los datos antropométricos fueron ingresados en un software, el mismo que fue desarrollado por el ingeniero en sistemas Diego Abad miembro de la Supercom, con la asesoría de los autores de la investigación. El resultado de la determinación y análisis del somatotipo del universo de estudio tuvo una tendencia general hacia un somatotipo meso-ectomorfo en la mayoría de los triatletas varones, y una predominancia meso-endomorfia en las mujeres, debido a las características propias de su adolescencia. |
