Evaluación de nueve accesiones de higo (Ficus carica L.) en la estación experimental del austro del INIAP, cantón Gualaceo provincia del Azuay-Ecuador

Abstract

This research entitled “Evaluation nine accessions of fig (FicuscaricaL.) at the Experimental Station INIAP Austro, Gualaceo Canton, Azuay Province, Ecuador” The work's main objective was to have a fig ecotype quality and high productivity, adapted to the environmental conditions Gualaceo Canton, Azuay Province. For this empirical method was used, whose techniques were observation, measurement, surveys and theoretical methods, after which the respective analysis and synthesis of information took place. It was used: data collection in the field, about 45 plants were analyzed and studied; the survey of the population, in order to determine the degree of acceptance by ecotype fig fruits by consumers; Likewise, an organoleptic test on 69 people of the city of Cuenca and Gualaceo, Paute and Guachapala province of Azuay cantons was drawn. The main conclusion was evident that the ecotype Guayaquil is the one with larger diameter, which generates a heavier fruit and more fruit; it is, also, the most productive, the less time required to produce swollen buds and the appearance of the first leaves. In addition, he was identified as the most striking ecotype according to the color of the pulp, and considered higher quality texture of the fruit.
