Recital de música nacional y popular para cuarteto vocal masculino: arreglos e interpretación en estilo pop lÍrico

Abstract

In this research we propose a study of a genre that has not had many references, few exponents have made proposals on the subject, the lyrical pop, based initially on the characteristics of vocal music and the study of its technical and interpretation. Vocal music is a broad topic, so only we will focus on specific and technical, different types of voices, groups involved in the history of vocal music since the mid- twentieth century, vocal arrangements for male quartet, etc. The lyrical pop or operatic pop, as it is also known, being a new style relatively in our country, will be the main object of our study, we will know what it is and what are the characteristics that make this style so versatile when merge with different genres, in this case, an Ecuadorian national music ––pasillo, albazo, fox incaico––, Latin American music and popular music ––pop ballad–– and chosen repertoire, performed with opera singing technique. Will detail the compositional process and general as well as the format used in instrumental arrangements, both musical and vocal lines, and how have merged for proper performance in a graduation concert
