| Abstract: | INTRODUCTION: Type 2 Diabetes mellitus (T2DM) represents a public health problem which mainly is installed in urban areas. Lifestyle (alimentary behavior, physical activity, emotional aspects) play an important role in the development and control of this illness.
TARGET: The target of this studio is to determine the lifestyle of 355 diabetic patients who consult on DONUM Foundation since may 18th to august 18th of the year 2015.
METHODS: This descriptive studio was realized through an unknown universe of diabetic patients. The sample was not random, the size was calculated with a confidence interval of 95%, 70% prevalence of good lifestyle and 5% of inference error. Patients entered the study sequentially. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed using the SPSSv15.0 software. The lifestyle was assessed with IMEVID questionnaire. Each of the domains was assessed as the general IMEVID format.
RESULTS: In this study participated 355 patients. The age was between 22 and 96 years old. The media age was 64. 64,8% were female. 54,9% lived in urban areas. 62,8% studied less than 6 years. About diagnostic time, 27,9% were diagnosed of diabetes in the latest 5 years and 26,8% were diagnosed more than 15 years ago. About lifestyle: 1,4% had an unhealthy lifestyle, 57,2% healthy lifestyle and 41,4% very healthy lifestyle.
CONCLUSION: In the group of patients that were studied in our investigation predominates healthy lifestyle and very healthy lifestyle. according to IMEVID scale |
| Description: | INTRODUCCIÓN: La Diabetes mellitus tipo 2 (DMT2) es un problema de salud pública, afecta principalmente a residentes de las áreas urbanas. El estilo de vida (conductas alimentarias, actividad física, estado emocional) juega un papel importante en el desarrollo y control de esta enfermedad.
OBJETIVO: Determinar el estilo de vida que practican los pacientes diabéticos que consultaron en la Fundación DONUM desde el 18 de mayo al 18 de agosto del 2015.
METODOLOGÍA: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo en una población desconocida de pacientes diabéticos. La muestra no fue probabilística, el tamaño se calculó con el 95% de confianza, 70% de prevalencia de buen estilo de vida y el 5% de error de inferencia. Los pacientes ingresaron al estudio de manera secuencial. Los datos fueron recolectados a través de entrevista y analizados en el programa SPSSv15.0. El estilo de vida fue valorado con el cuestionario IMEVID.
RESULTADOS: Se estudió 355 pacientes. La edad fluctuó entre 22 y 96 años con una media de 64. El 64,8% fueron mujeres, 54,9% residían en el área urbana, 62,8% tuvieron instrucción de menos de 6 años. En el tiempo de diagnóstico el 27,9% fue diagnosticado entre 1 a 5 años y el 26,8% hace más de 15 años.
El estilo de vida valorado tuvo como resultados: 1,4% estilo de vida poco saludable, el 57,2% saludable y el 41,4% muy saludable.
CONCLUSIÓN: El presente estudio según la escala IMEVID predomina el estilo de vida saludable y muy saludable ante el estilo de vida poco saludable |
