| Abstract: | Considering that the inadequate evacuation of the rainwater flowing over the road could generate damage to its structure, was undertaken a study of the drainage system for the road Molleturo - TresMarías - La Iberia (28.2 km. long, located in the Azuay Province). The analysis and design of the different elements that constitute such drainage system were substantiated in two aspects: (1) A hydrological evaluation of the project area, based on the historical reports from nearby rainfall stations, and (2) A hydraulic evaluation to determine the dimensions that guarantee the proper evacuation of the water flow. The calculations are based on the methodologies of Manning, American Rational and the Soil Conservation Service [SCS], supported by the available computational tools. In the end, the consistency of the results obtained within the standards and the established design parameters, such as the flow carried by the sewers and gutters, the scour depth and the height available for the gauge (obtained with the hydrological modeling of the corresponding channel), guarantee an economical implementation cost beside the efficient execution of this project. |
| Description: | Teniendo en consideración que el inadecuado desalojo del agua lluvia que cae sobre la calzada es capaz de generar daños en la estructura vial, se adopta el estudio del sistema de drenaje para la vía Molleturo - Tres Marías - La Iberia de 28.2 Km de longitud, localizada en la Provincia del Azuay. El análisis y el diseño de los diferentes elementos que constituyen tal sistema de drenaje, se fundamentan en dos aspectos: (1) Una evaluación hidrológica de la zona de emplazamiento del proyecto en base a los registros históricos disponibles de estaciones pluviométricas cercanas y (2) Una evaluación hidráulica con el fin de determinar las dimensiones que garanticen el apropiado desalojo del flujo circulante. El cálculo se sustenta en las metodologías de Manning, Racional Americano y SoilConservationService [SCS], apoyado por las herramientas computacionales disponibles. Al final, la coherencia en los resultados obtenidos dentro de las normas y los parámetros establecidos para el diseño, como los caudales transportados por cunetas y alcantarillas, la profundidad de socavación y la altura disponible para el gálibo a partir de la modelización hidrológica del cauce correspondiente, aseguran un costo económico en la implantación a más de la eficacia en la ejecución del presente proyecto. |
