Plan de ordenamiento territorial del biocorredor del río Yanuncay

Abstract

The proposed study focuses on developing a Land Use Plan in a specific territory, understanding the Biocorredor Yanuncay River as a highly fragile ecosystem to changes caused by human activities, which generate same changes in land use. Onsite hydro environmental service provided by the biocorredor is used by a high percentage of the population of the city of Cuenca, which is located below the water area of the Plan. The greatest damage to the ecosystem generated by the increase of the resident population in the area, increased tourism, agricultural activities; this could worsen to implant uses more environmental conflicts.

The Management Plan of Biocorredor Yanuncay River intended as a tool to regulate and protect both the specific action -Biocorredor- Area as defined Influence Area (part of the watershed of Yanuncay). The research focuses on diagnostic first instance contains a description and analysis of each of the components of the territorial system of the study area, as it defines the spatial distribution of the potential impacts and effects that are generated in the biocorredor. Then, they are synthesized in integrated diagnostics; instance in which the current model, problems and potentialities of the territory is analyzed. The planning phase includes a DAFO analysis of the territorial reality, and prospectively through the structuring of scenarios aimed at establishing alternatives that allow us to build a territorial model that the proposed arrangement is molded to the study area. Finally we conclude with the rules that govern intervention in the area of the Plan, programs and applications projects defined in the study area also pose an organizational management scheme.
