| Abstract: | General objective
Determine the prevalence of no adherence to the pharmacologic treatment in patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 that consult in the Donum Foundation during 2015.
Methodology
A descriptive study was conducted in an unknown population; the sample was calculated with 95 % confidence, 70 % prevalence of non-adherence to drug therapy and 5 % error inference. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed in SPSS version 15.0.
Results
The age ranged from 20-95 years with a median of 61 years. The 65,64 % were women; with urban residence, 62,23 %. The 47,99 % worked in domestic chores; the median educational level was 6 years. The mean duration of DM2 was 10 years and 55,42 % used oral antidiabetic. The prevalence of non- adherence to drug treatment was 70,89 %; in under 40 years, 5,24 %; between 41-65 years, 55,46 %, and over 65 years, 39,30 %. For women it was 65,50 % and for men, 34,50 %.

Determinar la prevalencia de no adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes con Diabetes mellitus tipo 2 que consultan en la Fundación Donum, durante el 2015.
Metodología
Se realizó un estudio descriptivo en una población desconocida; la muestra fue calculada con el 95 % de confianza, 70 % de prevalencia de no adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico y 5 % de error de inferencia. Los datos se obtuvieron mediante entrevista y se analizaron en el paquete estadístico SPSS, versión 15.0.
Resultados
La edad varió entre 20-95 años, con una mediana de 61 años. El 65,64 % correspondió a mujeres; con residencia urbana, el 62,23 %. El 47,99 % trabajó en tareas domésticas; la mediana de nivel de instrucción fue de 6 años. La media de tiempo de evolución de la DM2 fue de 10 años y el 55,42 % utilizó antidiabéticos orales. La prevalencia de no adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico fue del 70,89 %; en menores de 40 años, el 5,24 %; entre los 41-65 años, el 55,46 % y, en mayores de 65 años, el 39,30 %.
