Abstract: 
General Background: The Integrated Management of Childhood Illness Children (IMCI) was established in 1996 by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Fund for Children (UNICEF). It was established as the main tool for improving child health because it addresses the main health problems of the girl or boy, he says, the early identification of critically ill children with risk approach responds to the demand for care population and it is cost -effective. Objective: To identify the signs and symptoms of severity in relation to the component of acute diarrheal disease (ADD), applying the IMCI strategy for children from 2 months to 5 years of age who come to consult health sub center of the Valley, Cuenca 2015. Methodology: This study is descriptive. The universe and the sample was obtained by sampling and selection according to the criteria of the researcher, to children who arrive with an acute diarrheal disease consultation in the health sub center of the valley using the formula of Pita Fernandez and getting a result in 231 representatives, the same will apply survey data collection . The technique of direct observation and as tools, a survey on the subject in study by the authors is used. The results were verified, the information was processed with the introduction of data in SPSS, Excel and Word programs; the conclusions are presented in tables with their corresponding descriptive analysis and reporting of results. Results: In this study the signs and symptoms of severity in relation to the component of EDA was identified by applying the IMCI strategy for children from 2 months to 5 years of age who come to consult health sub center Valley Basin 2015. Through surveys He obtained the following results: 100% with a total of 231 children / as have diarrhea within 14 days. 78% of 181 children / as no blood in stool. 80% with a number of 185 children / as if fever, while 86% do not have abdominal pain with a number of 198 children / as when attending sub-center. 100% of the representatives of the children / as aware of signs of dehydration. In signs of dehydration which can identify the representative, it determined that 85% identified 196 representatives dry lips in children and 58% to 134 correspond to sleepiness or irritability. While 85% with a number of 196 representatives not identify the sign of dehydration sunken eyes. 59% with a number of 136 representatives if they identify warning signs that require immediate attention. The current state 62% with a number of 144 children / as for the irritable state, while 6% with a number of 15 children / as are in a drowsy state. 57% with a number of 131 children / as normally liquid drink. 58% with a number of 135 children / as if normally continue feeding when diarrhea. 66% 152 representatives if they know Suero Oral preparation. 66% with a number of 152 representatives prepare oral serum with boiled water, salt, sugar and baking soda. 100% 231 representatives of children / as attending the sub-center if they wash their hands. Antecedentes generales: La Atención Integrada a las Enfermedades Prevalentes de la Infancia (AIEPI), aborda los principales problemas de salud del niño/a. Objetivo: Identificar los signos y síntomas de gravedad en relación al componente de Enfermedad Diarreica Aguda (EDA), aplicando la estrategia AIEPI en niños de 2 meses a 5 años de edad que acuden a la consulta del subcentro de salud del Valle, Cuenca 2015. Metodología: El Universo y la muestra fueron obtenidos por muestreo , hacia los niños/as que llegan con una enfermedad diarreica aguda a consulta en el subcentro de salud del Valle utilizando la fórmula de Pita Fernández. Resultados: Mediante encuestas se determinó que: El 100% con un total de 231 niños/as presentan diarrea con menos de 14 días. El 78% con 181 niños/as no hay presencia de sangre en heces. El 80% con un número de 185 de niños/as presentan fiebre, mientras que un 86% no presentan dolor abdominal con un número de 198 niños/as al momento de asistir al subcentro. El 100% de los representantes de los niños/as tienen conocimiento de signos de deshidratación. El estado actual el 62% con un número de 144 niños/as corresponden al estado irritable, mientras tanto el 6% con un número de 15 niños/as están en un estado somnoliento. El 66% con un número de 152 representantes preparan el suero oral con agua hervida, sal, azúcar y bicarbonato
