| Abstract: | This tourism development plan is based on the analysis of the physical, socio-economic and tourism situation in the canton Guachapala, since the joint study of these three elements allows the approach of programs and projects that constitute important factors for economic and social development of the territory; Guachapala, like several cantons which are located along the Ecuadorian territory has attractions of different ranks and categories that need to be maximized in a sustainable manner.
The main objective of this study is to establish a tourism development plan which will allow the cantonal authorities make Guachapala a developed and competitive tourist center in the province of Azuay, which in turn has the ability to create sources of income alternatives to the residents of the area and is in the ability to meet the needs and expectations of current and potential visitors without causing damage to natural and cultural factors, for that purpose on this study has been developed a proposal for programs, projects and services based on activities of analyzing needs, threats, opportunities, strengths and weaknesses of the territory which were determined through the application of various research methods; to obtain basic information regarding the physical and socioeconomic characterization of the canton primary and secondary sources were analyzed, on the other hand for the lifting of tourist information such as characterization of supply and demand, inventory and situational analysis of the tourist attractions were used surveys, interviews and field trips to the various attractions.
At the end, this study was able to confirm that the tourism factor within the canton Guachapala is highly neglected, which can be easily verified in several features such as the poor state of much of its resources and tourist facilities, the lack of touristic signage and as well as the lack of a tourism development plan, etc. However Guachapala has a variety of attractions that in the future will be able to develop cultural, religious, scientific nature and adventure tourism. |
| Description: | El presente plan de desarrollo turístico se fundamenta en el análisis de la realidad física, socioeconómica y turística del cantón Guachapala, puesto que el estudio en conjunto de estos tres elementos permite el planteamiento de programas y proyectos que se constituyen en factores de gran importancia para el desarrollo económico y social del territorio; Guachapala, al igual que varios cantones que se ubican a lo largo del territorio ecuatoriano cuenta con atractivos de diferente rango y categoría que requieren ser aprovechados al máximo de manera sustentable.
El principal objetivo del presente estudio es establecer un plan de desarrollo turístico que permita a las autoridades del cantón, convertir a Guachapala en un centro turístico desarrollado y competitivo dentro de la provincia del Azuay, el cual, a su vez tenga la capacidad de crear fuentes de ingreso alternativas para los pobladores de la zona y esté en la capacidad de cubrir las necesidades y expectativas de sus visitantes actuales y potenciales sin provocar daños a los factores naturales y culturales; para tal efecto, se ha desarrollado una propuesta de programas, proyectos y actividades basados en el análisis de las necesidades, amenazas, oportunidades, fortalezas y debilidades del territorio las mismas que fueron determinadas a través de la aplicación de diversos métodos de investigación; para la obtención de la información básica relacionada con la caracterización física y socioeconómica del cantón se analizaron fuentes primarias y secundarias, por otro lado para el levantamiento de información turística como caracterización de oferta y demanda, inventario y análisis situacional de los atractivos turísticos fueron utilizadas encuestas, entrevistas y salidas de campo hacia los diversos atractivos.
Al culminar el presente estudio se pudo corroborar que el factor turístico dentro del cantón Guachapala se encuentra altamente descuidado, lo cual se puede constatar fácilmente en varios rasgos como el mal estado de gran parte de sus recursos y planta turística, la falta de señalización, la inexistencia de un plan de desarrollo turístico, etc. No obstante, Guachapala cuenta con diversidad de atractivos que le permiten en un futuro desarrollar turismo cultural, religioso, científico de aventura y naturaleza.
Cabe destacar que para el cumplimiento de los objetivos planteados en el presente plan es necesaria una participación de todos los sectores involucrados, los mismos que deberán actuar de manera consciente y responsable velando siempre por los intereses de los habitantes del cantón ya que la población es la principal beneficiaria del desarrollo turístico que se logre obtener. |
