| Abstract: | This study is based on the frequency and characteristics of lung cancer staging in Solca Hospital of Cuenca, dese 1990 to 1995. The universe is made up of patients diagnosed with lung cancer, of which 32 were males and 29 female, 29 come from urban areas and 32 rural. They are presented from 40 to 89 years. Estadiados three patients, the rest according to the findings in the history, but not in 2 lack of data found. The methods used were Rx and CT of the chest, bronchoscopy, thoracentesis and biopsy. The most important methods of sampling were brushing, biopsy and bronchial washing cytology [more specific] pleural fluid. The histological type was squamous in 28 percent, adenocarcinoma in 23 percent and the other on a smaller scale. According to the classification of 1981, 53 belonging to the group III, e 3 to group II and 1986 are 26 stage IV, 17 of IIIa and IIIb 16, ie in most later stages. | Description: | El presente estudio se basó en la frecuencia y características de la estadificación del carcinoma broncogénico en el hospital de Solca de Cuenca, dese 1990 a 1995. El universo está constituido por pacientes diagnosticados de carcinoma broncogénico, de ellos, 32 pertenecen al sexo masculino y 29 al femenino, 29 proceden del área urbana y 32 de la rural. Se presentan desde los 40 a los 89 años. Se encontraron 3 pacientes estadiados, el resto de acuerdo a los hallazgos en el historia clínica, pero no en 2 por falta de datos. Los métodos empleados fueron Rx y TAC de Tórax, broncoscopía, toracocentesis y biopsia. Los métodos más importantes de obtención de muestras fueron cepillado, biopsia y lavado bronquiales, citología del líquido pleural [más específica]. El tipo histológico fue epidermoide en el 28 por ciento, adenocarcinoma en el 23 por ciento y los otros en menor escala. Según la clasificación de 1981, 53 pertenece al grupo III, y e 3 al grupo II y en la de 1986 26 son del estadio IV, 17 del IIIa y 16 del IIIb, es decir la mayoría en etapas tardías. El tratamiento recibido fue curativo 6 por ciento y paliativo en el 83 por ciento, especialmente con radioterapia |
