El autoconcepto de los adolescentes en educación general básica hijos de padres emigrantes, y no emigrantes

Abstract

The implementation of this work was to determine qualifications, analyze and compare the levels of self-concept of adolescents in basic general education, children of immigrant parents and not immigrants, the "Santa Isabel" National Educational Unit, through research focus quantitative and descriptive. It could work with the entire population, comprising 197 students enrolled in eighth, ninth and tenth year of basic general education, 44.16% (n = 87) males: -16.75% (n = 33) children of immigrant parents and 27.41% (n = 54) children of parents emigrantes-; and 55.84% (n = 110) women: -18.78% (n = 37) children of immigrant parents and 37.06% (n = 73) children of parents emigrantes- (mean = 13.10 years , DEVIATION = 1.09 years). The test AF5 Garcia and Musitu was used to measure the 5 dimensions of self-concept. The results showed that no significant differences in the dimensions of self-concept between the two groups, except in the academic dimension, therefore, this study did not show a relationship directly between the levels of self-concept, and the son of immigrant status or immigrant father.
