Abstract
This research explores carefully different manifestations that adopt the unconventional urban art, graffiti in their shapes, types, styles, supports and relations with urban planning and community.
The information collected, provided by art critics, cultural managers, graffiti practitioners show the current status of graffiti in Cuenca, Ecuador.
The research had as target group the graffiti artist of Cuenca, who practice this art and are organized under the sponsorship of the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Cuenca and also those free acting or in group but without institutional supervision in the period 2012-2013.
Resumen
La presente investigación explora detenidamente las diferentes manifestaciones que adopta el arte urbano no convencional, el Grafiti en sus formas, tipos, estilos, soportes y relaciones con el urbanismo y la colectividad.
La información levantada, provista por críticos de arte, gestores culturales, practicantes de grafiti muestran el estado actual de grafiti en Cuenca-Ecuador.
La investigación tuvo como grupo objetivo a los grafiteros cuencanos que practican este arte y que se encuentran organizados bajo el patrocinio del Departamento de Cultura de la Ilustre Municipalidad de Cuenca y también aquellos que actúan libres o en grupo pero sin la tutela institucional, en el período 2012-2013.
