This study shows that during the year 1999 were performed 156 autopsies of these the 65.38 percent were made by the courts of transit; the most common age corresponds to range between 20 and 59 years with a rate of 55 percent; the highest incidence were male with 72 percent. As for the quality of autopsies found that 97 percent of the 156 present weaknesses regarding their development by the lack of anatomical data and legal, such as medical semiology: weights are ignored by 96 percent, organs 96 percent are not properly explained the mechanism of death by 39 percent so that there is no relationship between the mechanism and cause of death by 41 percent, there was a relationship between the killer and the protocol description by 98 percent. Este estudio demuestra que durante el año de 1999 fueron practicadas 156 autopsias, de estas el 65.38 por ciento fueron realizadas por los juzgados de tránsito; la edad más frecuente corresponde al rango comprendido entre los 20 y 59 años con un porcentaje de 55 por ciento; la mayor incidencia corresponde al sexo masculino con un 72 por ciento. En cuanto a la calidad de las autopsias se encontró que el 97 por ciento de las 156 presentan falencias respecto a su elaboración por la falta de datos anatómicos y de semiología médico legal, tales como: se omiten pesos en un 96 por ciento, órganos en un 96 por ciento, no se explica correctamente el mecanismo de muerte en un 39 por ciento por lo que no hay relación entre el mecanismo y causa de muerte en un 41 por ciento, existió una relación entre la causa de muerte y la descripción del protocolo en un 98 por ciento. Existió una ausencia del tanatocronodiagnóstico en un 60 por ciento. En relación a la causa de muerte el aparato que más se afecto fue el cardiocirculatorio con un 49 por ciento, el tipo de médico que realizó las autposias fueron legistas en el 96 por ciento. En conclusión existen serias deficiencias en la calidad de la elaboración del protocolo de autopsias porque no se cumple en algunos casosel Código de Procedimiento Penal.
