Abstract
This investigation was based on the analysis of the journalistic notes published in the diaries EL TIEMPO y EL MERCURIO, during February, March, April and May of the year 2012 and 2013. The intention was to determine which is the journalism current situation of the in risks of disastersthe management, as well as also to identify the problems that arise to the moment to treat information of this nature. To reach the objective I analyzed the content published in the newspapers, took the experts opinion and consulted manuals issued by institutions understood with this matter.All these actions gave recommendations that will be able to be used by the journalists during his professional exercise.
Resumen
La presente investigación se basó en el análisis de las notas periodísticas publicadas en los diarios EL TIEMPO y EL MERCURIO, durante febrero, marzo, abril y mayo de los años 2012 y 2013. El objetivo fue determinar cuál es la situación actual del periodismo aplicado en la gestión de riesgos de desastres, así como también identificar los problemas que surgen al momento de tratar información de esta índole. Para alcanzardicho objetivose analizó detalladamente el contenido publicado en ambos rotativos, se contó con declaraciones de expertos en el tema y se consultó manuales emitidos por instituciones entendidas en esta materia. Todas estas acciones dieron como resultado la elaboración de recomendaciones que podrán ser utilizadas por los periodistas durante su ejercicio profesional.
