| Abstract: | The boom of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the present time has given most of people, especially teenagers, unlimited access to the Internet, exposing themselves to new forms of violence called cyberbullying.
Cyberbullying is a type of abuse which comes on the scene along with the development of technology due to the misuse of different media. It features the same traditional bullying, but bullying through electronic media like social sites, which in spite of lack of physical contact, causes the same impacts on the victim, such as low self-esteem, anxiety, poor academic performance, isolation, fear, among others.
This study aimed to diagnose the main types of cyberbullying among students in the 10th grade of César Andrade y Cordero high school in Cuenca; a quantitative approach was used and the technique for collecting information was a self-administered survey.
In regard to the incidence of cyberbullying, it showed 5.64% against a possible 25% for traditional bullying.
In regard to the types of cyberbullying among 10th grade students of César Andrade y Cordero high school, it was found that CYBERBULLYING THROUGH THE WEB is the worst type of cyberbullying, 6.95%, and the second type, which is done through MOBILE DEVICES, represents 4.17%. |
| Description: | El auge de las Tecnologías de Información y Comunicación (TICs) ha fomentado, en la actualidad, que la mayor parte de la población especialmente los adolescentes tengan un acceso ilimitado al internet, exponiéndose a nuevas modalidades de agresión denominadas ciberbullying.
El ciberbullying es un tipo de maltrato que aparece junto con el avance de la tecnología por el mal uso de los diferentes medios de comunicación. Consiste en el mismo acoso tradicional, bullying pero a través de medios electrónicos, como las redes sociales, que no por carecer de contacto físico, dejan de causar iguales repercusiones en la víctima, tales como: baja autoestima, ansiedad, bajo rendimiento académico, aislamiento, temor entre otros.
Este estudio tuvo como objetivo diagnosticar los principales tipos de ciberbullying en los estudiantes de 10mo de básica del Colegio César Andrade y Cordero de la ciudad de Cuenca, se empleó un enfoque cuantitativo, la técnica para la recolección de la información fue la encuesta autoaplicada.
En relación a la incidencia de ciberbullying se registró un 5,64% frente a un posible 25% correspondiente al bullying tradicional.
En relación a los tipos de ciberbullying en los estudiantes de 10mo. de básica del Colegio César Andrade y Cordero se determinó que el CIBERBULYING POR INTERNET es el mayor tipo de ciberbullying con un 6,95% y el segundo tipo, el que se realiza a través de DISPOSITIVOS MÓVILES, con un 4,17 %. |
