Medidas de bioseguridad en el manejo de catéteres centrales por parte del personal de enfermería del servicio de cirugía del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso Cuenca 2014

Abstract

Objective: To determine the biosecurity measures in the management of central catheters on the part of the nursing staff in the Surgery Department of Hospital "Vincente Corral Moscoso". Methodology: Your approach was observational, descriptive, since it allowed the statistical analysis of the information obtained, such as techniques used the interview through a survey and the direct observation and as instruments was attended with an observation form. The study included the entire nursing staff constituted by 38 people, 6 did not participate in the research. Results Through the research results identified that 75.7 % of the nursing staff have theoretical knowledge on Biosecurity Measures in the Management of central venous catheters and the 33.1 % successfully applied, therefore there is a distant relationship between ¨knowledge¨ and ¨application¨. Conclusions According to the results obtained through the interview and observation we can say that while the greater part of the nursing staff know about the biosecurity measures in the management of central catheters, however this does not apply properly, because a large percentage of the nursing staff is not professional, because it is shaped in large part by auxiliary personnel.
