| Abstract: | Background: arterial hypertension is a chronic non-communicable disease world-wide distribution. It is one of the risk factors for cardiovascular disease, strokes, and kidney failure.
Objective: To determine the prevalence of arterial hypertension and associated factors in traders over 18 years of the market, Cuenca 2014.
Methodology: We conducted an observational , analytical, cross-sectional ; the sample was composed of 226 traders of el Arenal market of the city of Cuenca, used the OR with the 95% confidence interval and was considered to be statistically significant p values <0.05 .
Results: 69.5 % not referred family history, 84.1% had a level of physical activity with low or null, 77.4% do not consume alcohol and 96.9% were non-smokers. The prevalence of hypertension was 27.4%, stage 1 hypertension (21.2%), hypertension stage 2 (6.2%). 27.9% had hypertension. The prevalence of overweight was 40.7%, and 40.3 % of obesity (grade I obesity 28.8%, grade II obesity 8.8% and morbid obesity 2.7 %). It was determined that the men are more likely to have hypertension than women OR 2.27 , 95% CI: 1.19 -4.34 , p = 0.012 and with the nutritional status, persons with overweight and obesity are at greater risk of having high blood pressure than those who have a normal weight OR 2.64 , 95% CI: 1.05 -6.61 , p = 0,034 .
Conclusions: The prevalence of hypertension is high and is linked to overweight-obesity and sex; with a high frequency of poor nutritional status. |
| Description: | Antecedentes: la hipertensión arterial es una enfermedad crónica no transmisible de distribución mundial. Constituye uno de los factores de riesgo para las enfermedades cardiovasculares, cerebrovasculares, renales.
Objetivo: determinar la prevalencia de la hipertensión arterial y los factores asociados en comerciantes mayores de 18 años del mercado, Cuenca 2014.
Metodología: se realizó un estudio observacional, analítico, transversal; la muestra estuvo conformada por 226 comerciantes del mercado el arenal de la ciudad de Cuenca; se utilizó el OR con su intervalo de confianza al 95% y se consideró estadísticamente significativo valores de p <0.05.
Resultados: El 69.5% no refirió antecedentes familiares, el 84.1% tenían un nivel de actividad física de bajo o nulo, el 77.4% no consumen alcohol y el 96.9% no fuma. La prevalencia de hipertensión arterial fue del 27.4%, HTA estadio 1 (21.2%), hipertensión arterial estadio 2 (6.2%). El 27.9% tuvo prehipertensión. La prevalencia de sobrepeso fue del 40.7%, y de obesidad 40.3% (obesidad grado I 28.8%, obesidad grado II 8.8% y obesidad mórbida 2.7%). Se determinó que los hombres tienen mayor probabilidad de tener HTA que las mujeres OR 2.27, IC 95%: 1.19-4.34, p = 0.012 y con el estado nutricional, las personas con sobrepeso y obesidad tienen mayor riesgo de tener hipertensión que los que tienen un peso normal OR 2.64, IC 95%: 1.05-6.61, p = 0.034.
Conclusiones: la prevalencia de HTA es alta y está asociada al sobrepeso-obesidad y al sexo; con una alta frecuencia de mal estado nutricional. |
