Incidencia de H. pylori en estudiantes de 20 a 25 años de la carrera de Bioquímica y Farmacia de la Universidad de Cuenca

Abstract

The incidence of H. pylori was determined of the incidence of H. pylori in the students of Biochemistry and pharmacy of the University of Cuenca, establishing the presence of antibody to human IgG anti-H. pylori in students age between twenty to twenty five years.

Developed a descriptive study of cross-section in a sample of 100 students; the presence of IgG antibodies was determined anti-H. pylori in serum by chemiluminescence technique. To understand the characteristics of the sample was determined a survey elaborated for this purpose. The statistical analysis of the data was processed in SPSS v. 22.0 Epidat 3.0 to Windows.

Results were 51 students never eat breakfast 48 (96,07%) of these were positive for IgG anti-H. pylori; 57 students do not eat lunch at their homes, 48 (84,21%) are positive for IgG anti H. pylori. The majority of students maintain a diet rich in carbohydrates (45.71%), lipids (81.42%), and proteins (61.72%) giving positive for incidence of H. pylori. To a lesser extent the toxic habits as the consumption of alcohol and cigarettes in 20 students 100% are positive for IgG anti-H. pylori. Consequently the overall result was an incidence of 67% positive for IgG class antibodies anti-H. pylori.

The most influential variables are the eating habits, and the dyspeptic symptoms as these factors that can lead to an infection by H. pylori.
