Evaluación de dos sistemas de siembra en caña de azúcar (Saccharum officinarum L.) para la obtención de semilla en la provincia del Cañar – Cantón La Troncal

Abstract

In Ecuador the production of sugar cane at a level of a naive sugar bowl exist since 1884, with Ingenio Valdez. The seed 's production of sugar cane in Ecuador at the pass of the years has been the plant cane or the plant of first cut, without a proper manage in quantity and quality, as consequence the physiological needs show themselves in plagues and diseases. In this investigation it is suggested to evaluate the quantity of the seed of sugar cane in two systems to plant, a simple surc and a double surc, the practice was made at La Troncal, province of Cañar. The results of the investigation, under the weather conditions and the manage of the cultive as a kind of irrigation and quality of water, fertilization, and others, were the same during the entire practice between the simple and the double system. With the economic analyse, realized the cut of the cane for the seed at the 7 months of the plantation, it was determinated that the cost of the simple surc system was lower and it leaved rentability, while the double surc system, with a higher cost, it wasn't rentable, producing an economic lost.
