Intervención en el parque cultural y recreativo Guantung de la ciudad de Cañar

Abstract

The objective of this paper mainly focuses on the circumstance of rescuing both cultural and undoubtedly magnificent heritage that the city of Cañar possesses. In the present, the social problems in interaction with other factors such as: political, economic background origin, etc. generate a functional decontextualization in the Guantugpark, this in turn is affected by the reality of these degrading aspects that delay their functional purpose to the public. Intervening in the existing park in order to rescue the culture starting from the worst difficulty, is the main objective of the present work. For this matter, the different degenerative aspects as well as retaining the positive stuff will be deeply analyzed, in such a way that an overall discernment will be obtained from what happens in the park. Afterwards, at the time of taking the right decisions and urban architectural intervention, a proposal to have a solid judgment will be generated. On the other hand, it would not be possible to address the issue of cultural recreation in the park without first referring to the historical and conceptual aspects of recreation in public spaces. For that reason, this paper starts from these issues in order for the final product to possess a continuity and evolution of content; therefore, an ascending order of topics will be verified, beginning with the historical and cultural aspects as well as the concepts and theories of recreational parks, followed by an analysis of the problems in diagnosis to finally conclude with a proposal called draft.
