Abstract

The following thesis is about theWarehousingandInventory Managementofthe Hidropaute business unit. It is one of the twelve business units integrated within the Ecuador Electric Corporation CELEC EP. This companyis responsible forthe operation,maintenance and constructionofhydroelectric projects. This study aims toevaluate the inventory management through an analyzethe procedures applied in this areausing interviews, direct observation and a review of IFS systemrecords in order to verifycompliance withlegal standardsrelated to the management of public assetsofthe Ecuadorian State. In order to understand the effectiveness of the inventory management, this research uses the data from 2012 and an analysis of processes observed during 2013.Upon identifying potential flawsoftheinventory managementsystem, this report proposesa control modelof methodology that aligns with the laws, regulations, manuals andother provisions issuedforthispurposeand that will be efficient processfor the handlingof goods. The attached proposal describes this interpretation of results.
