Se utiliza un panel de datos balanceados de 22 países de América Latina y el Caribe en el periodo de 2009 a 2017. Entre los resultados obtenidos se reseñan indicios de que el capital social opera como mitigador de la degradación ambiental en Latinoamérica y el Caribe, además de que las naciones de la región se hallan en la fase de crecimiento en la EKC.This research seeks to investigate whether social capital manages to mitigate the effect of environmental pollution under the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) approach. A panel of balanced data from 22 Latin American and the Caribbean countries is used in the period from 2009 to 2017.
