La evidencia arqueológica se representa en material lítico y cerámico diseminado en la superficie; además de, estructuras como terrazas escalonadas, palacio central, kallanka, kollkas, Kapac-Ñan , entre otras, que denotan una ocupación prehistórica de importancia por su materialidad. Actualmente, las actividades humanas y los factores climáticos provocan una constante alteración y destrucción del sitio, a causa de una supuesta falta de interés y conciencia sobre el patrimonio arqueológico en la región, siendo esta una problemática de tipo social e investigativa. Por ello, el objetivo de este estudio fue reconocer el estado actual de los vestigios arqueológicos y, a su vez, indagar sobre las percepciones y los significados que los pobladores asignan a los elementos patrimoniales de la zona, mediante la aplicación de cartografía social y entrevistas a profundidad. Con esta investigación se generó un registro de la materialidad presente en Tambo Blanco y los usos actuales que se hace del sitio arqueológicoThis investigation was conducted in Loja Province, Tambo Blanco (San Lucas, Ecuador) archeological site. The archeological evidence is represented by lithic and ceramic material scattered on the surface and structures such as stepped terraces, central palace, kallanka, kollkas, Kápac-Ñan , among others, denoting an important historical occupation by its materiality. Human activities and climatic factors cause a constant disruption and destruction of the site, connoted by an alleged lack of interest and awareness about archeological heritage in the region, being a social and investigative problem. Thus, this study aimed to recognize the current state of archeological vestiges and, at the same time, inquire about the perceptions and meanings that the villagers assigned to the heritage elements of the area through social cartography and in-depth interviews.
