Es por ello, que bajo la autorización del alcalde del GAD municipal del cantón Azogues el señor Javier Serrano y la Unidad de Turismo de Azogues, se llevó a cabo el trabajo de titulación "Actualización del inventario de atractivos turísticos según la metodología del Ministerio de Turismo (2018) aplicada al cantón Azogues, provincia del Cañar – Ecuador". Este proyecto busca generar y registrar una herramienta que facilite el desarrollo de futuros planes destinados a fortalecer y fomentar las actividades turísticas, promoviendo así el crecimiento económico del territorio. Para este proyecto, se aplicaron los criterios establecidos en la Metodología para la Jerarquización de Atractivos y Generación de Espacios Turísticos del Ecuador, creada por el Ministerio de Turismo en 2018.Se identificaron 43 recursos turísticos, luego de emplear la metodología, se obtuvo como resultado 33 atractivos turísticos, de los cuales 19 pertenecen a la categoría de manifestación cultural y 14 a la categoría de atractivo natural. En conclusión, se determina que el cantón Azogues posee un alto potencial turístico y la infraestructura necesaria para el desarrollo de este.Part of the competencies of the Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GAD) is the preparation and updating of inventories of tourist attractions in their jurisdictions. For this project, the criteria established in the Methodology for the Hierarchy of Attractions and Generation of Tourist Spaces of Ecuador, created by the Ministry of Tourism in 2018. 43 tourist resources were identified, after using the methodology, 33 tourist attractions were obtained, of which 19 belong to the category of cultural manifestation and 14 to the category of natural attraction.
