Para el fin se abordan los oficios de parteras y recolectores de café, los mismos que como se evidencia histórica y culturalmente han complementado el desarrollo socio económico de sus entornos, abriendo posibilidades a otras formas de ser y actuar. La investigación de tipo cualitativa, acude a la etnografía como herramienta, haciendo uso de la observación participante y entrevistas, logradas con el aporte de estudiantes del semestre de titulación de Ecoturismo – marzo / agosto 2016, de la Universidad San Gregorio de PortoviejoThe article translates knowledge and ancestral trades in the province of Manabí, whose objective is to promote the dialogue of knowledge and intercultural relations, both based on the socio- cultural imaginaries of the city and the academy, as a form of knowledge production interlacing own knowledge and universal knowledge. For the purpose, the trades of midwives and coffee gatherers are addressed, the same ones that as historical and cultural evidence have complemented the socio-economic development of their environments, opening possibilities to other ways of being and acting.
